This blog was a great idea. For all of us out here in the "extended family", its been a real blessing to be able to follow your progress and interact while not having to be so intrusive.

Like Marilyn, I have gotten in the habit of checking in regularly, which does bring to mind, just think of all the advertising opportunities! I mean, you've got a committed, loyal readership, and I sure as a group we have great demographics. (Okay, so I had surgery yesterday...apparently I need to start weening of the pain killers!) :)

Keep fighting the good fight. We're all here for you, cheering you on.

We are all connected by the most powerful bond of all...LOVE...and now we are able to love people that we have not yet met!

Aaron, if it takes those painkillers to dream up great ideas...I say, Keep them coming!!

Shabbat Shalom to all.

This is such a great way for us to keep in touch with you, to find out what's happening. I don't worry that I'm calling at a bad time, or sending an e-mail when you don't feel up to responding.

You guys are such wonderful writers, and you have such a way of expressing yourself in the midst of all you are going through.
How do you do it?

Sending hugs your way, and offers to help in any way we can, any time.

Love,
Susan, Larry and Matthew

I typed a comment this afternoon...and then I lost it somehow!! No worries...I am back to type more...hopefully I won't lose this one too!!

First and foremost, I must wish my dear friend Marla a very happy, sweet and peaceful Mother's Day!!

Next is another very sincere thank you for the gift of this blog. You have reached out to so many of us and thru this "journal," we all remain connected. I too am addicted to it and look forward to checking daily to hear good news, as well as to share my support and encouragement. I even feel like I know Aaron, Marilyn, Betty and Fred!!

Your visits with your grandma are precious. Your presence is a blessing to her. And even in the midst of this journey, you continue to give endlessly of yourself...we call it, "menchlekeit"...one of my favorite yiddish words, but excuse the spelling!!

Marla, YOU ARE WINNING THIS FIGHT, in every way and in everything you do!! Have a beautiful Mother's Day, hug that beautiful boy that made you a mommy 9 years ago, and hug that big boy too (we love you too Mike!!)

From the heart
Joyce

Ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto!!!!
I loved your post about visiting your grandma! Sadly, my g.m. also spends most of her days sleeping in a nursing home. But I DO believe - regardless if they ask the same things over and over and seem not-all really there - they know WE'RE there. And it helps in some karmic-life-affirming way. And that you are HERE, and that you were THERE for your grandma is a beautiful and miraculous testimony to life and love.

I remember back in 2002 during the Winter Olympics, I went to visit my grandmother (who was just a wee bit more coherent at the time. The television was ona nd I asked, "Grandma, are you watching the Olympics?" She responded, "Why? Are you in them?" I said, "No, grandma. But there's ice skating. YOu love that." To which she asked, "Are you skating?" It was funny and frustrating and sad. But somehow, I felt that we were still making a connection. And I think she was glad I was there. At least I'd like to think so. Anyway - I was glad that I was there.

And I am glad you are here and that you (and Mike) keep writing this blog.

Love you, Mama to Sully.
